Our assignment for this project was to experiment with layers of paint and textures. We were allowed to choose what we wanted for the subject matter. I chose birds, because in my background I collaged an image of a peacock feather and thats what inspired the whole piece. I drew the birds with black and white charcoal.

Homework assignment
I made this piece for a homework assignment in my class. Our assignment was to make a portrait of someone. The background for this was originally another artwork that I had made a few years ago. I didn't really like it, so I re-did it and added collage and layers of paint to change it. Then, I painted the girl on top and added colored pencils and oil pastels. I'm not completely finished with this piece, because I still want to add more details to make the girl more realistic.
