We were allowed to choose what we wanted for the subject matter. I chose birds, because in my background I collaged an image of a peacock feather and thats what inspired the whole piece. Our assignment was to make a portrait of someone. The background for this was originally another artwork that I had made a few years ago. I didn't really like it, so I re-did it and added collage and layers of paint to change it. Then, I painted the girl on top and added colored pencils and oil pastels. I'm not completely finished with this piece, because I still want to add more details to make the girl more realistic.Niara Parkerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12454876813095063903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139485604984605292.post-78528166508035269552010-11-03T19:48:00.000-07:002010-11-03T19:52:50.139-07:00Classroom Still lifeThis was our first project that we did in class. After I took a picture of myself, I altered it on the computer changing the color of my skin and hair. Then I painted the picture on a canvas, that I covered with comics from the sunday paper. This piece seems to have a pop-ish style, which is different than my own style ...but i love it!
